New Year's Resolutions? uh, sure why not?

I think I've done serious New Year's resolutions uh 1 year.  Way back I don't even remember when.  This year I've decided to have one resolution: I AM GOING TO GRADUATE COLLEGE BY GOLLY.  When I graduate this December I will have been in school in one capacity or another for 8.5 YEARS.  Enough already, I'm done.

Do I want to lose weight?  Sure.  Find financial freedom?  You bet. Maybe I'll do a little of those things this year.  Maybe not.  So long as I graduate, I'll feel successfull for the year.  Kind of low standards.  Ask me how much I care.

Here's to your resolutions and hoping they are fulfilled. Or not, whatever floats your boat.  It's your boat afterall.

Until next time,
:)

The gift of fast reflexes

I consider myself to have very fast reflexes, this as well as my brain being programmed right help me out often.  There's a major intersection in Murfreesboro that about 100 feet from the intersection is a train track.  It's actually impressive how the stop light works with the train tracks to prevent a buildup in the intersection, and hopefully keep people from killing themselves on the tracks.

Well one night I was coming home from work and I guess I hit the intersection just right because I turned right onto the road with the train tracks and barely saw the red flashing lights before I heard the train horn blaring.  Out of instinct I slammed on the breaks and THEN the light bars started coming down, when the train was within 100 yards of the intersection.  Keep in mind it's about 5:30pm, so it's not like anyone was driving home from work or anything.  *sarcasm*

As I sat there and stared blankly at the train, I couldn't help but be thankful for the reflexes to hit the brakes before the tracks.  Who knows what could of happened.

Be safe Until next time,
:)

Why I'm a better driver when I'm on the phone

A couple things: I know you're yelling at me right now.  Sounds something like you can't be a better driver if you.....blah blah blah.  So...
1. SHUT UP.  Hear me out.  Then you can rant at me...in the comments...which I moderate (muahahahaha).
2. By on the phone, I mean either bluetooth or with my fancy iPhone headphones.  I DO NOT MEAN HOLDING THE PHONE TO MY FACE.  And I do NOT text and drive.

OK.  So here's my argument.  Sometimes I can get in a hurry to go to or from places, and so my speed tends to go up.  But if I'm on my headphones chatting away, I'm less likely to notice that I'm going the speed limit behind another car.  I'm also less likely to weave in and out of traffic.

Maybe it's not the end of the world if only 90% of my focus is on driving.  I'll admit to being capable of aggressive driving.  And I'm easily annoyed by "stupid" people "in my way".

Maybe I'm wrong.  I don't know.  All I do know is I'm a calmer driver when I'm a)on the phone or b)listening to Christmas music.  Imagine my calm state doing both :o

And as for the comment moderation, I really only moderate for spam and appropriate content/language.  So opinion away.  Even if I disagree, keep it clean and I'll post it.

Until next time,
:)

What is Christmas music?

I LOVE Christmas music.  Could listen to it every day all year love it.  Recently, I realized I didn't have but 10 "Christmas" songs on my phone.  I figured this out when I tried to make a holiday playlist to get in the mood.  Then I got to thinking: what is Christmas music really?  Joy to the World, Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree...?

Then I thought, maybe it would be clearer what Christmas music is if we remember what Christmas is about.  (HINT: CHRISTmas...) So songs like In Christ Alone (Owl City has a beautiful cover).  What about those?

Then I created a new playlist: ones with calmer, more worshipful songs.  Ah, that's my kind of Christmas.  Who needs the speedy music anyways, this season is hectic enough already.

Until next time,
:)

Watch out: you might get smacked with a ...... blessing?

I am incredibly blessed.  I mean, blessed beyond blessed.

It's easy to get caught up in everything that's not my way: classes aren't easy, daily life is hectic, things happening at odd/continuous hours, and on and on.  But in the middle of this I have the most incredible man in my life, and by all awesomeness, we have the same name.  :)

He makes me so incredibly exceedingly happy.  He makes me feel OK to be me.  He's my teammate and best friend.  We've only known each other for a few months, but we just click.

So here's to a magnificent man who makes me smile and sends me a text hoping my day is going well.

I'm truly blessed.  100%.

Until next time,
:D
