I used to be one of "those". Those women who thought staying at home being a "housewife" would be boring. Well talk about making assumptions with no information!
Due to a snafu at work, I lost computer access. I work in IT. Means I couldn't do....anything. So for 4 days I ran errands during the day. I went to the bank, grocery store, car wash/vacuum, post office, voter's registration, did laundry, cooked, cleaned the apartment, on and on and on. What did I do after business hours? When I normally do ALL of those things? I did not one stinkin' thing. I didn't have to. I didn't have to do a total schedule rearrange to make it to the bank during banker's hours. Or the post office. And going to the grocery store in the middle of the day? Talk about EASY. No one there. Bwahahaha.
I really enjoyed it, and I got to thinking, that it most certainly was not boring.
So then I got to thinking: What is it with this female mentality that "I want to be equal to men and go to work in an uncomfortable power suit and back-breaking heels for 40 hours a week". Um how about I got to walk around all day in sweat pants and not care. Yeaaaaah.
NOW: I want to put a plug that I understand it can be a lot more stressful when children are involved. But I really enjoyed the freedom that getting all these things done during the day provided.
Until next time,
:)
